The Team: Sristi Kamal

Sristi Kamal, Global Operations Coordinator

 
As a natural resource management specialist and a conservationist, Sristi focuses on socio-ecological systems and in making local communities a part of the conservation equation. She received her Ph.D. in Ecology from Jagiellonian University (Poland) for characterizing and analyzing stakeholders’ attitude toward private land conservation. She conducted part of her PhD research at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, New Haven, USA. 
 
Sristi has worked across four continents (Asia, North America, Africa and Europe) in various natural resource management programs and projects by putting her expertise in project management, building strategic partnerships with different stakeholder groups, stakeholder collaboration, environmental governance, and conservation stewardship to use. Previously, she worked as the Program Coordinator of Conservation and Livelihoods Program at Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) in the Eastern Himalayas of India; with Mercy Corps as a natural resource management (NRM) consultant for their country programs in Haiti, Timor Leste and Ethiopia; and with Sweetgrass Foundation as a consultant on their program in Nepal. She also served as a member on the Advisory Committee of International Conservation Network (ILCN) from 2015-2017.
